My 4-year old textbook still thinks.....
  • George Bush is still president
  • Pluto is a planet
  • Real estate is booming
  • Food pyramid
  • U.S. has never had an African American president
  • no oil spill in the Gulf
  • no Chilean mine rescue
Digital content allows constant updating of content
Digital content can keep up with standards
Multimedia content does help student learning
VARK - Visual, Auditory, Read/Write, Kinesthetic

Students need to be actively engaged in their own learning
  • (my comment: not involved in my 'teaching')
Virtual content allows students to take part in things that are not possible

Differentiated instruction is rooted in assessment. Digital content allows you to build in formal assessment and then a path....

94% of kids have internet access

Average textbook cost = $105/student /year
Digital cost: $19/year
